Early Orthodontic Treatment for Children

Children should have their first orthodontic evaluation between the ages of seven and eight years old. These early examinations let Dr. Shirman determine if your child can benefit from interceptive (early) orthodontics.

Kids with crowded baby teeth may not have enough space for their future adult teeth. Dr. Shirman can make space for those teeth to come in with braces in phase one. Perhaps your little one has a pronounced overbite, underbite, or crossbite. At Dental Wellness of Charlotte, Dr. Sergei Shirman's training and expertise allow us to offer comprehensive orthodontic treatment, including traditional braces and clear aligners with Invisalign. So if you're not a candidate for clear aligners, Dr. Shirman can still help you achieve a straighter, more beautiful smile with brackets and wires.

How Does Invisalign in South Charlotte Work?

If you and Dr. Shirman determine that invisible braces are right for you, he'll create your customized treatment plan with 3-D imaging. Then, Invisalign uses that plan to fabricate your clear aligners in sets that you'll change every two to three weeks.

Patients who are consistent about wearing their aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day can typically complete their treatment in 12 to 18 months.
